When I lived in Germany, little old German ladies on their 50 pound utility bikes used to drive me nuts with one of these; pling pling....pling pling. Actually, they are more polite on trails than yelling at someone.

Comments:
This is a great little bell. After 3 years of use the bell started jingling on bumpy roads or trails. I was able to solve the problem by stuffing a piece of cardboard in the slot on the top of the bell to prevent the jingling. Very quiet until I hit the lever to ding the bell. I usually give a double ding to let people know I am passing on the left.
