Sun Gear Housing
$0.80
For shifter applications only. The 5mm SIS housing uses our metal cable ferrules. The smaller/lighter 4mm housing uses our 4mm plastic ferrules. Index shifting gear housing is identified by the tiny wires running the length of the housing. These are there to ensure the housing doesn't compress against the gear cable when the shift lever is pulled. It's imperative to keep ferrules on the ends of this housing. It's also extremely important to use a gear ferrule only and not a brake ferrule. THIS PRODUCT IS SOLD BY THE FOOT.
POC Cable Housing Ferrules
$0.10 - $0.15
A must for the ends of brake and gear housing. Remember 5mm brake and gear housing ferrules are different. The gear ferrule has a smaller much finer hole. The brake ferrule cable hole is slightly bigger and not drilled with as much precision. Why you ask? Gear cable has many fine wires running the length of the housing. If a brake ferrule is installed on gear housing, the wires will eventually snake through the ferrule hole and either slow down or trap the cable. The 4mm gear ferrules we sell are black plastic press on's. Please choose wisely when ordering.
POC Brake Housing
$0.65
5mm quality black brake cable housing. Please don't confuse this with SIS gear housing (this definitely won't help your shifting). Basically, brake housing has steel coiled inside the black plastic. This is then lined with teflon tubing. Please use brake cable ferrules with this housing. The larger hole in the end allows the larger brake cable to pass smoothly through. This product is sold by the foot.

Really nice item to add to your present bike or one that you're building. Works great for both brake and gear cables. Basically, anywhere your stainless cables are exposed. Not only does it really dress up your bike, but it protects both the cable and frame from damage. Down here in Florida it seems to help keep the moisture at bay for awhile.
